Borderlands Game Of The Year App Reviews

A great game that can be optimized for lower devices

Borderlands is an awesome game though it can make your make you macbook REALLY hot if you don’t make a couple of changes. To run the game optimally on a 2014 Macbook Air with a 1.4 GHz processor, 4 GBs of Ram and 1.5 GB graphics card, I had to limit the framerate to 30 frames per second and disable some features through the .ini files. To access these files, open the start-up page for Borderlands, click advance settings and open the game files, click the folder MacInit and you will have access to the .ini files! By limiting the frames per second and adjusting the settings with the help of a Lag Fix guides online, the game now runs on high settings without overheating. I think Borderlands 2 preformed better, but this game doesn’t run too bad either. Overall, I think Borderlands is a great game, though I kind of preffered Borderlands 2. Both NPC and playable characters are ok in this game, but not particularly great and the enviorements aren’t as diverse. The desert design is pretty cool though! It makes me feel like a Lone Ranger in the wild west! $30 isn’t a bad price for this game considering it includes the DLC, but you may want to hold out for a sale. At $10, this game was a steal! [Warning: If you plan on tweaking the game, make sure to create a backup of the old .ini files just in case :) ]

Was great till later levels...

… then everything, and I mean everything is as good or better than you are, including gear. That’s a pretty lazy way to ›balance the game.

Great Game, Poor Multiplayer

This is a great game if you just want to play by yourself, but as far as I can tell it’s difficult to play mulitplayer over LAN and impossible to play multiplayer online. The online game hosting service, GameRanger, doesn’t support OS X Mavericks or anything later. I wasn’t able to find an alternative.

Great Game - Missing Gamecenter

I’ve had a lot of fun solo-ing this game, but it needs to be said that the multiplayer aspect (which is required to reasonably play some of the DLC) was hampered by requiring an application outside the game to handle hosting/joining. As I said “was hampered”. Multiplayer is currently ruined since Gameranger as it was known is officially broken and as a result Gameranger hasn’t supported Mac OS since around 2013. It would be nice to see an update adding Gamecenter support….it would allow me to play the rest of the game.

great…OMG. read the feature I found below

where do I start, I mean everything is perfect I bought it yesterday and I’m playing it right now. I haven’t had any problem, on the contrary the game is beautiful and amazing. the great and most blowing feature in this game is that you can actually transfer your saved game data from pc to the mac and just drop them in the saved game data folder in your mac and start playing with your saved data that you spent lots of hours to get like weapons and items even the finished missions. this feature for me is the most wanted features of all.

Works on OS El Capitan

I am running the basic model Macbook Pro Early 2015. It runs pretty well. I can run at 720p at high settings. Beyond that the fps drops a lot but at 720 i beleive it runs at 60fps. Defently a must have.
